This squarish plug intake air temperature sensor is common equipment on 96-00 Honda Civic SOHC / SOHC VTEC / DOHC VTEC. It is commonly installed via the 'sticky' method into a socket found on the air intake hose/pipe or air box for intake air temperature charge reading. It may also fit other applications. The intake air temperature sensor is a temperature dependant resistor (thermistor). The resistance of the thermistor decreases as the intake air temperature increases. The intake air temprature changes is relayed to the ECU.

When check engine light (CEL) or maintenance indicator lamp (MIL) indicates code 10, OR, scan tool indicates DTC P0111, P0112 or P0113, there is a problem with the intake air temperature (TA) sensor and/or circuit.
