This is a brand new genuine Honda Acura Civic CRX Del Sol VTi SiR Integra XSi GSR B16A B17A B18C TD-44U OBD1 Ignition Distributor Sub-Assembly from Honda Motors, Japan. This TEC TD-44U distributor housing is interchangeable with TEC distributors housing bearing the housing model code TD-68U.
The distributor sub-assembly or housing does not include the ignition coil, ignition coil-to-igniter control module wire, ignition coil bolts, igniter control module & heat sink assembly, leak cover, rotor, rotor screw, distributor cap & gasket. Present distributor components can be easily transferred to the new sub-assembly.
The distributor sub-assembly or housing only consists of the non-serviceable items like the fixed sensors namely the crank angle sensor, top dead center sensor and cylinder position sensor, as well as the rotor shaft internal bearing and oil seal. It comes with a new distributor o-ring.
When the check engine light indicates code 4: Problem with the crank angle sensor and circuit. The CRANK sensor determines timing for fuel injection and ignition of each cylinder and also detects engine rpm. (Related wires: Blue/Green & Blue/Yellow)
When the check engine light indicates code 8: Problem with the top dead center sensor and circuit. The TDC sensor determines ignition timing at start-up (cranking) and when crank angle is abnormal. (Related wires: Orange/Blue & White/Blue)
When the check engine light indicates code 9: Problem with the cylinder position sensor and circuit. The CYL sensor detects the position of No.1 cylinder for sequential fuel injection to each cylinder. (Related wires: Orange & White)
When the resistance between the terminals of any indicated sensor is beyond or above the range of 350 to 700 Ohms, OR there is continuity between the housing and each terminal of the indicated sensor, the distributor sub-assembly must be replaced.
