Type R B16B B18C DOHC VTEC engines have dual valve springs per valve on the exhaust side unlike the regular DOHC VTEC B-series which only has a single spring per valve. This dual valve spring is important to help handle the extra valvetrain velocity that the much higher lift Type R exhaust cam has.

Fitment includes B16A, B17A, B18C GSR. Necessary when installed with Type R or performance camshafts.
